Director Background

Baltimore filmmaker and visual storyteller Brian Anderson, professionally known as B Mogul, returns to the neighborhood that shaped him for the premiere of his debut documentary and companion photography exhibition, NO BLUEPRINT.

Spanning nearly two decades, the documentary follows Anderson's journey from Greenmount Avenue in East Baltimore to cities across Europe and back home. Through intimate interviews, archival family footage, and cinematic visuals, the film reflects on growing up surrounded by incarceration, gun violence, grief, and poverty while discovering himself through basketball, education, and international travel.

Rather than presenting success as a straight line, his artwork challenges conventional narratives of achievement. The film embraces life's setbacks, detours, and moments of uncertainty, arguing that many people—particularly young Black men—build meaningful lives without a roadmap.

Alongside the film, visitors will experience a curated photography exhibition featuring images from Anderson's travels and personal archive. Together, the photographs expand the documentary's themes of identity, home, and transformation, inviting viewers to consider how place shapes purpose.

More than a premiere, it is a homecoming. It honors the neighbors, mentors, coaches, educators, family members, and friends whose belief made the journey possible, while inspiring the next generation to imagine lives beyond the limitations placed upon them.
